Haunted Nights at Drumheller Castle: Ethereal Quandary: A St. Charles Tall Tale by Faly Colaizzi
Excerpt from “Chapter Five: The Ghost Of Lilly Drumheller”:
Mesmerized by the warmth, and exhausted, lying on the
sofa, Jake once again spotted the Arabian cello and bow
that had been a gift from his great-grandfather to Mark
Drumheller. It was resting dormant near the stand of sheet music.
Able to fight no longer to remain alert, he tried to drift to sleep. Amid
the dreamy space between alertness and deep slumber, with his eyes
closed, he once again turned his attention away from the cello. He
observed the foyer chandelier swaying in a circle. The flickering
images and voices that welled up inside him just before sleep took
over allowed his delving subconscious to sift, filter, and sort through
deep reminiscences and quandaries of the day. As he was lulled into
his dream by a hypnotic stream, Jake’s subliminal mind chatter tried
to release the mental debris of his symptoms.
